Junior Firefighter
To join the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department as a Junior Firefighter you must be at least 14 years old. Juniors do not fight fires, but they help the department in many other ways. During their time as Junior member they will learn how all the trucks operate; as well as what all the equipment is and how it is used.
We encourage all junior to actively participate in all training and events. They are allowed to respond to fire and accident calls and work safe areas. To apply to join the Junior Firefighter program stop by the station any Wednesday evening between 6pm and 9pm. Any crew member will be able to assist you in filling out the application and will provide you with the necessary consent forms.
