The Fire Police play very important roles in our department. On fire calls, they secure the scene to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Their efforts allow fire and medical apparatus quick access. This effort also helps to keep bystanders out of harms way.
Along with the fire scene operations the fire police help with most major events in the borough. During the Antique truck show, Das Awscht Fescht and the Wheels of Time Custom Car Show, they provide much needed traffic control.
Like the Fire Department the Fire Police crew is comprised solely of volunteers. You must be 21 years of age and have a clean driving record to volunteer. To apply stop by the Fire station and fill out an application.
